I’ve been reading a lot lately about personal productivity. Presently I’m reading a book by Brian Tracy titled Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time. I also subscribe to Michael Hyatt’s blog, Intentional Leadership. Both speak to personal productivity. Michael had an e-book based on writing out a life plan. I’m starting that book as well.
Tracy gives his readers a seven step process to better personal productivity and success. Here are those seven steps:
- Decide what you want.
- Write it down.
- Set a deadline for what you want to do. Set sub deadlines if necessary.
- Write down everything you can think of that you’ll need to do to accomplish this goal.
- Organize this list into a plan of action.
- Take action on your plan immediately.
- Resolve to do something everyday that moves you toward the accomplishment of your overall goal.
Weeks just fly by don’t they and we realize we are no closer to our goals than we were the last week. We are facing some big goals at LifePoint Church and in our Furnace Hills Coffee business. I’ve found that without some movement at least on a weekly basis you make little progress in your journey.
I’ll keep you up-to-date on how I’m doing in reading these two authors and making progress in stuff going on in my two major areas of ministry.
